How do you choose playmates? What if my dog is nervous?

Playmates are carefully selected based on temperament and play style. First, our trained Technicians get to know your dog in order to determine the appropriate playgroup or playmate. Dogs are initially introduced through fencing, then on a leash. Once new dogs are comfortable, they are brought into established, supervised playgroups.

Occasionally, we encounter dogs that suffer anxiety at being in the presence of other dogs. Our years of experience have demonstrated that, if needed, we have the ability to match calm, well-adjusted boarders with apprehensive dogs so that all may enjoy the fun diversions that make the Doggie Dude Ranch such a happy place to go on holiday!

What arrangements can be made if I want to pick up my pet on a holiday or Sunday when your office is closed?

Although we are closed on Sundays and federal holidays, you may drop off/pick up your pet on these days at either 8:00 a.m. sharp or 3:00 p.m. sharp. For this service there will be an extra $50 charge.

THE OFFICE IS CLOSED ON THESE HOLIDAYS:

  • New Year's Day : January 1.

  • M.L.K : 3rd Monday in January.

  • Memorial Day : last Monday in May.

  • Independence Day : July 4.

  • Labor Day : 1st Monday in September.

  • Columbus Day : 2nd Monday in October.

What do i need to bring?

We have plenty of sterilized dog beds, blankets, bowls, toys and leashes. Please refrain from bringing anything that you are scared to loose or have damaged. We no longer take large beds that can’t be washed in a standard washer. We ask that you limit to 3 personal items . (ie. Food container, Bed, toy)

How big are the suites? Are they heated and air-conditioned?

Suites are approximately 20 feet long and 4 feet wide, with 2/3 of the square footage dedicated to the outdoor patios. Our suites have indoor/outdoor access through doggie doors.

The indoor portions are climate-controlled with heated kennel floors in the winter (radiant heat) and commercial grade evaporative coolers in the summer. At night, the dogs are brought indoors and the doggie doors are closed to keep the dogs safe and secure while they sleep.

Can my pets room together?

Absolutely! We encourage dogs from the same family to share quarters and enjoy play park sessions together. Cats can also share a condo if they are "siblings." The only rule is that they must 'play nice together'.

If your pets need to be separated for feeding, please inform us at check-in so we can accommodate their needs. They will be together all other times, including play and sleep times.

Do you require vaccinations? Which ones?

For the safety of all our guests, dogs must have current rabies, DHLP-P, and Bordetella vaccinations.

Cats must have current rabies, FVRCCP, and FELV vaccinations.

You can upload files to your Gingr profile or bring in person at check in.

What People Are Saying

“Great atmosphere and nice people! This was my doggies first adventure here. They did a great job at a great price!!”

“Heidi loves the Doggie Dude Ranch! It's as if she thinks she's going to camp! We love the DDR because we know she is cared for in a safe and loving manner."

“I was hesitant to take our dog-avoidant Yorkie, Peaches, to any sort of day care, but I thought I'd give it a try at Doggie Dude Ranch. With their gentle care and encouragement, Peaches now has friends she looks forward to hanging out with, and she goes twice a week for her play time. “
